I read that a petition is circulating to recall the members of the Ridgway board of education. These citizens, elected by a majority and acting democratically, spend hours reviewing and discussing privileged information to act on the public’s behalf. Each member acted on what they felt was best for students. With that said, I would like to thank the existing board for all the time spent and drama endured this year.
It’s a shame that Ridgway has to deal with another administrative turnover. But in my opinion, a recall petition sullies the democratic process. Please thank the current board members for their service. The community can be very intimidating, but everyone wants the best for our students.
