Have the Montrose County Commissioners gone off the deep end again? We didn’t hire them to invoke political discourse. Their support of the old Sagebrush Rebellion (transfer of federal land) is not only short-sighted, it is illegal. It will go nowhere, and the county will only lose more money. Just like their resolution against Agenda 21, it shows not only their lack of the facts, but their poor judgment.
Federal lands are held in trust for all U.S. citizens (“We the people”). Local government has neither the resources nor expertise to manage such large tracts of land. It could only lead to disposal of valuable land owned by all U.S. citizens.
