Young Driver: (Wed., July 23) A juvenile was cited by the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office at 10:51 a.m. for reckless driving, reckless endangerment, speeding, and having an unauthorized minor in the vehicle. The incident occurred in the 16000 block of 6250 Road.
Tire Slashing: (Wed., July 23) While on patrol, a Montrose County Sheriff’s deputy witnessed a car versus bicycle accident at the intersection of South Second Street and Townsend Ave. in Montrose. The bicycle rider then cut a tire on the car. The 52-year-old man was arrested for criminal mischief.
Forgery: (Wed., July 23) A 30-year-old Montrose woman was arrested by the Montrose Police Department on charges of second-degree forgery, unauthorized use of a financial transaction device, identity theft and criminal attempt. She was held on $5,000 bond.
Underage Possession: (Wed., July 23) A Montrose police officer issued a citation for underage possession of marijuana to a 16-year-old boy who was hanging out in Riverbottom Park.
Agency Assist: (Tues., July 22) A Montrose Sheriff’s deputy assisted the Montrose Police department in apprehending a suspect at LaSalle and Montrose Drive at approximately 11: 16 a.m.
Arrests on Warrant: (Tues., July 22) A 40-year-old Montrose woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant and was held on $1,500 bail. A 43-year-old Montrose man was arrested
Kidnapping: (Tues., July 22) A 38-year-old Montrose woman was arrested by a Montrose Police officer and was held on $125,000 bond for first-degree kidnapping charges, felony menacing, aggravated robbery, theft, and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.
Drug Arrest: (Tues., July 22) A 22-year-old and a 23-year old man, both from Arizona, were arrested by an Olathe police officer for possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. Bond was set at $10,000.
On the Road: (Tues., July 22) After failing to dim headlights and being pulled over by a Colorado State Patrol trooper, a 63-year-old Montrose man was arrested for driving while ability impaired, failing to dim headlights, an open container in the vehicle and no seat belt in use. Bond was set at $750.
Assault: (Sun., July 20) A Montrose Sheriff’s deputy responded to a report of an assault in the 100 block of East Man Street in Naturita at approximately 9 a.m.

• The third annual Police Officer’s Ball “Blue Tie True Blue Affair” will be held on Sept. 20 at the Montrose Pavilion. Tickets are $50.00 and are available for purchase at the Montrose Police Department.
• Overweight truck traffic, 10,000 GVW, is prohibited on Hillcrest, Niagara and S. 12th Street. Citations may be written for violators.
• Bicyclists must follow traffic rules. Citations may be written for running stop signs, red lights or for traveling on the wrong side of the street.
• Drivers must stop on a red light before turning right.
