As newbies to the unbelievably huge task of homeownership, my husband and I have quickly learned what an immense undertaking it is to remodel and maintain a home. This weekend we were made acutely aware and reminded of how important it is to prepare and do your homework when beginning a do-it-yourself project. We found ourselves in a very uncomfortable situation where we were forced to call 911 for assistance.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that responded: The San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office, The Placerville Volunteer Fire Department, Source Gas, and all our neighbors. We truly thank ALL of you for your unbelievably quick response; calm, assertive action; and your assurances (and reassurances) that everything was going to be OK. We feel truly blessed to live in such a wonderful community, with such selfless people.
