MONTROSE – If you can’t afford health insurance, you may be eligible for Expanded Colorado Medicaid. This health plan provides a no-to-low cost public health insurance that covers doctor visits, emergency care, preventive care, dental services, mental health services, prescriptions, and many other health services. In January 2014, Medicaid eligibility guidelines were expanded through the Affordable Care Act to include adults, pregnant women, and children. Eligibility for this program is based solely on income and assets are no longer taken into account. To qualify, households must make no more than:
1-person household – $15,528/year
2-person household – $20,928/year
3-person household – $26,328/year
4-person household – $31,728/year
