Karate is back!!!

Karate is offered on a monthly basis- You may attend in Ridgway and/or Ouray. Payment is due first of the month, unless purchasing a 3-month or 6-month pass via phone. Mondays in Ouray, Thursdays in Ridgway.  Join us for Karate with Sensei Burkhard Feierabend. Whether you are new to Karate or a seasoned student, the Sensei will work with your level. If younger students prefer to leave after 1 hour of class, that is not a problem.  Taught in the kyokushin kai-kan style, similar shotokan style of karate, we welcome new students to try this exceptional experience for your mind and body! Sensei has over 42 years in karate, rank of Go-Dan.

Pilates Barre: Function & FUN @ Weehawken Ridgway

This functional and fun class is taught by Michelle Kodis, who worked and trained extensively with Darin Fletcher of Integrative Movement Center.  This brings together the best of her background in pilates, dance and FUN!  Pilates and the barre are a match made in exercise heaven. Together they facilitate and expand the principles of true functional movement in an upbeat and supportive environment that focuses on the body’s intrinsic strength and capacity for dynamic, fluid, natural movement.    Designed for all levels and typically accompanied by invigorating music, this class incorporates fundamental Pilates mat routines with barre exercises for a vigorous full-body workout designed to:  ·  sculpt and lengthen muscles for a lean, streamlined silhouette  ·  improve posture  ·  develop deep core strength  ·  safely enhance range of motion  ·  promote overall endurance and fitness.  Classes are by punch card, available at class or online.  Please bring a MAT and WATER .  First class is free for each student.

Instructor Emma Rainey is offering her version of a total body workout.  She will use the Barre, but being a “dancer” isn’t the idea, instead, BarreWorks combines the best of yoga, ballet, and core strength in just 55 minutes you will achieve a full-body workout targeting the hips, thighs, seat, abdominals and arms. The technique is low-impact, alternating movement and stretching, plus using your own body weight as a natural tool to build elegant, lean muscles, with specific alignment principles to protect your joints.  Emma will use her extensive yoga background and Barre training to bring an all new workout style, that includes world music and a groovy vibe!!  Come see what it is all about.   The first class is free for all students!  Please bring a mat and water and arrive early enough to complete paperwork and prepare for class!  Classes are by punch card and can be purchased at class or online.
