Oct 30 all-day
Cellscape Photo Contest @ Gallery 81435 | Telluride | Colorado | United States

Welcome to the 2014 Cellscape Photo Contest and Exhibit. A landscape photo made with a cell/smart phone is a cellscape. The modern hike inspires media activity. The cell camera snapshot provides the most immediate access to recording the moment. Immediacy, inspiration and convenience triumph lens quality. The cellscape is inevitable and it has never been easier.

Winning images, along with many contestants’ photos, will be printed and displayed at the Cellscapes exhibit and celebration at Gallery 81435 on Wednesday, December 3, from 5-8pm, and prizes will be awarded.

The goal is to fill Gallery 81435 with cellscape images taken since August 2014. There is a small entry fee required that will be used for exhibition costs.
$5 to enter up to three images, $10 for unlimited entries.
Printed images will be for sale on the night of the exhibition.
Artists will receive 50% commission on sold work.

WHEN: Currently accepting submissions.
DEADLINE for entries is Friday, November 14, 2014.

CASA of the 7th Judicial District 3rd Annual DodgeBall Tournament @ Montrose County Fair Grounds Friendship Hall
Nov 1 @ 9:00 am

Mark your calendar for November 1st for the 2014 CASA Dodge Ball Tournament. This year we are holding it at the Montrose County Fairgrounds Friendship Hall. The first game begins at 9am with more games continuing all day long. We are looking for sponsors, teams, and volunteers to help make this event another great success.

Enclosed is the sponsorship information. Also, consider gathering together a team of friends, family, business associates, employees and anyone else you would like. The rules are easy and it is a fun game to play. The tournament is limited to 40 teams. The fee to sponsor a team of 6 players is $150 ($25 per player and includes tournament t-shirt). The 1st Place prize will be a trip to Las Vegas to play in the National Dodgeball League World Championship in August of 2015. That’s right, round-trip ground transportation, 3 nights lodging, and tournament registration for the Las Vegas event will be the grand prize.

Behind every CASA volunteer who lifts up the voice and life of an abused or neglected child stands a generous donor like you. The CASA model works. For an abused or neglected child, a CASA volunteer is someone who listens. Someone whose sole mission is to help clear a path out of the complex, overburdened child welfare system and into a safe, permanent home.

Research shows that a child with a CASA volunteer spends on average eight months less in foster care. This is a win win for everyone … the child, the County and the community!
We help children throughout Delta, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Montrose, Ouray and San Miguel Counties. Sadly, the need for CASA services is growing. So, have fun at the CASA Dodge Ball Tournament and support a good cause.

We hope you will agree to sponsor the 2014 Dodge Ball Tournament and play on a team. Let us know of your support as soon as possible. If you have any questions or want to volunteer for this event, We may be reached at 970/249-0337 (ext.11 is for the Executive Director, Carlton Mason). To register online visit: www.casa7jd.org
