A Salad Bar Worth Returning to Time (and Time Again)

It’s just a salad, fairly basic. But, it’s the right mixture of vegetables, croutons, pickled beets (!) and two different salad dressings for that balance of creaminess and tanginess.

That’s right, I love a good salad bar and sometimes they can be hard to find when you want one the most.

Sal’s Pizza, located in the old Fiesta Guadalajara on East Main Street in Montrose, has just that, with some decent pizza on the side. Go there for lunch and get their all-you-can-eat pizza, pasta and salad bar for $7.50. Then, you are free to indulge in all the satisfying salad combinations your heart desires. It’s a perfect lunch IMO.

Gus often makes fun of me because I love toppings on anything—chili, eggs, sandwiches, and salads. That’s why I’m crazy about salad bars. And for someone who really loves pickled beets, like me, you can go back and get seconds.

Since I was eating healthy, a single piece of cheese pizza was enough for me. But it’s good pizza and sinful enough with a shiny crust that you know must be coated in butter or olive oil – yum! But I go there for the salad bar on quiet weekday lunches where I can stil get work done while I keep my weird salad combos to myself.

If you enjoy a good salad bar, then I would recommend you do the same!

Open daily from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
